The following maps detail the some of the tramping routes we have taken in the South Island in higher resolution (1-3mb) than most of the Trip Route articles. All maps have been produced using TUMONZ mapping software. Later trips use a Google Maps plugin and/or NZTopomaps online to display route details and can be found in the Trip Routes area
- Arthurs Pass NP
- Feb 2002: (3.1mb) Five day private trip from Klondyke corner to Carrington hut, over Browning, Whitehorn, Browning and Popes pass to Julia hut. Up Dry creek, over Hunts Ridge and dropping down to Hunts Creek hut and out to Otira.
- Kahurangi NP
- Aug 2006: (3mb) Started at Rolling River up the Wangapaka to Karamea bend. Up the Leslie river and onto the Tablelands. Trip Images: Di's Pics, Pete's Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
- Feb 2011: Douglas and Arthur range traverse starting at Bainham and progressing south via Boulder Lake, Adelaide, Lonely Lake and down to Fenella. From there down the Cobb river and climbing up onto the tablelands before climbing Gordons Pyramid and Mt Arthur before exiting via the Flora carpark.
- Mt Aspiring NP
- Xmas/New Years 2003: (2.2mb) Jet boated from Makarora up the Wilkin to Kerin Forks Hut, hiked up to Top Forks hut with a side trip up to Lake Castilia, then up Wilkin river south branch to Waterfall face where we had an incident after which returned to Kerin Forks and explored the Siberia Valley with day trips to the top of the Gillespie Pass and Lake Crucible. Returned to Kerin Forks and got the jet boat back to Makarora. Incident report, Trip Images
- Nelson Lakes NP
- Xmas/New Years 2001: (4.8mb) St James walkway to Ada Pass hut. Three tarns route into the West Matakitaki, Bobs hut to East Matakitaki hut. Heavy snowfall and poor visibility meant we couldn't cross David saddle so returned down East branch, down main branch of Matakitaki river, crossed Mole saddle to D Urville river. - Richmond Range, Nelson
- Xmas/New Years 2011: An 11 day tramp in the Richmond Range starting at Hacket road incorporating only part of the Alpine route due to poor weather. Instead, dropped down off the tops to Lake Chalise and down to Lower Golter hut before climbing back up to Tarn hut and exiting via Wairoa road.
- Barrier Range, Ruataniwhi Conservation Park
- Feb 2011: An 8 day where the weather condition dictated major route changes. Ended up doing checking out the south branch of the Huxley and V notch pass before going up the north branch of the Huxley, over Brodrick pass into the Landsborough and return via same.
